How To Celebrate Your Wedding Anniversary During Lockdown

12/02/2021 By Jeremy Leave a Comment

The coronavirus pandemic has changed the world as we know it, forcing millions upon millions of people around the globe to stay at home to minimise the spread of the virus.

As a result of this, events and celebrations have had to come to a standstill, with many people now turning to virtual Zoom calls to enjoy their big day – whether it be a birthday, engagement, stag do, hen party or baby shower.

But, what about wedding anniversaries? After all, the chances are that you will both be spending the lockdown in each other’s company, so how exactly can you celebrate the occasion while under lockdown restrictions?

Well, that’s where we can help. Join us as we run through some of the best ways to celebrate a wedding anniversary at home, highlighting exactly how to make it a day to remember.

Breakfast In Bed

OK, let’s start at the beginning of the day with a cheap, easy idea that’s sure to be just as special.

If your spouse is often the one to bring you coffee and make you breakfast in the morning, why not think about turning the tables on your anniversary?

Set your alarm slightly earlier, sneak into the kitchen without waking them up and then make them breakfast to ensure their day starts off with a wonderful, thoughtful surprise in the comfort of their own bed.

Purchase A Nice Gift

Purchase a special gift on your wedding anniversary

While you may not be able to visit the shops in person right now, thanks to the wonders of the internet, you can still shop online with ease.

Therefore, try to think about which gift (or gifts) to get your partner in advance of the big day.

Whether it be a post-pandemic anniversary experience idea to look forward to, an anniversary material-appropriate present or a gift they’ve been talking about for a while now, you could even think about buying them a lockdown-appropriate gift to remember the year by.

If, for instance, they’ve been missing the golf course for a while. Why not consider investing in an at-home golf simulator system instead? That way, they’ll get the freedom to improve their swing while at home and you will have shown a lot of thought in the gift you chose to purchase.

If you feel that buying something new for your partner isn’t the best way to demonstrate your love, you could instead look to improve on something that they already have. Refurbishing an old watch that they love can make a great and not too expensive gift or maybe repair some cherished jewellery which has deteriorated over the years.

Create A Playlist

Create a playlist for your loved one for an anniversary gift

Sometimes it can be difficult to express how you really feel about your loved one, letting them know how much they mean to you. So, if you’re not one with words, perhaps music can help – especially when shopping for jewellery gifts.

By creating a playlist of all the music that expresses what you want to say, you will demonstrate to your partner how much time and attention you’ve put into making their day special.

From the music you listened to when you first met to the tracks you have shared memories of listening to, try to choose the songs that you know are important to you and your spouse.

Then, once you have it set up, you’ll both be able to not only boogy away to it after a couple of glasses of wine but you’ll also be able to carry on listening to it again and again and again.

Design A Photo Gift

Another great way to celebrate all the years you’ve spent together is through designing and printing a personalised photo gift.

Whether it be a framed collage, a photo album or something else entirely, personalised photo gifts are a great way of providing you and your partner with an opportunity to reminisce about your past experiences, remembering all the amazing times you have had together pre-lockdown.

Plus, personalised gifts are super easy to do online: simply go through and select your favourite photos, choose the type of gift you’d like to create, upload your pictures (while ensuring they’re good quality) and the software will do the rest.

Final Thoughts…

The lockdown restrictions may have made many events harder to plan or look forward to but that doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t celebrate your anniversary in style.

By utilising the hints and tips listed above, while it may not provide you with the ideal anniversary plans you wanted initially, you can still make the most of your day and enjoy celebrating the milestone with the person you love the most.
