We ask this question as the” Wedding industry” is expecting a boom year for weddings, in fact one source has called 2022 “The Year of the wedding” with many couples who postponed their wedding and did not get married during the pandemic.
The industry is still dealing with the fallout from postponed weddings from 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With all the restrictions placed upon couples many postponed or paired down their original wedding ceremony and honeymoon and are now planning a REAL wedding.
While there may still be some restrictions, weddings are looking more like the celebratory events that they used to with larger guest lists, destination events and big design moments for the more intimate weddings.
But true love cannot be stopped and many continued with their wedding plans although the lavish plans had been scuppered for the time being. Promises were made we will have a large reception when all this is over! Now the planning for an anniversary reception begins. Anniversary Reception? I hear you ask.
What is a Anniversary Reception?
Couples who are planning to renew their vows or maybe planning something more lavish. Yes this looks to be a new trend for 2022, with couples who went ahead and tied the knot back in 2020 and 2021 but with restrictions in place, reduced numbers, travel, basically any couple who had to downsize their wedding, elope or had a virtual wedding will likely be considering an anniversary reception.
Another reception can be a costly affair as we know but if you had a Zoom wedding reception or a scaled down reception you may have already got the funds together for your initial wedding reception before the pandemic kicked in.
Many things need to be considered, aside from the obvious, setting a date, guest numbers, cake, location, home or abroad, Food & Drink, Photographer, honeymoon the list goes on etc. Is it something you want to be unique and intimate or a big lavish event?
At the end of the day you choose how you would like to enjoy this new trend Anniversary Receptions!
This is a trend that will likely continue and be adopted by many other couples who will be celebrating an anniversary in the coming years and for those who were forced to cancel their wedding plans because of the pandemic. Of course you can have an anniversary reception anytime you wish and it´s not just for the covid marriage members club.
